Software Update Process - part 2


Software update process involves two files

oFirst file is called the source file, old file or initial file.

oThe second file is usually called target file, new file or destination file.


There are two transforms that involve the two files.

oThe binary diff file creation (also called delta or patch). We call this process or transform, SecureENCODE. See more here.

oThe patching of the source file into becoming bit-by-bit identical to the target file. We call this process or transform, SecureDECODE. See more here.
